THE BLOG

I’ve been photographing weddings for over ten years now and, believe it or not, this was my very first opportunity to shoot on the grounds of the Biltmore! Kyle and Anna had their ceremony and reception at Deerpark, but after their first look we took the trolly over to the main house and shot some of their portraits and bridal party arrangements on the lawn overlooking the beautiful house. For an October wedding, we still had plenty of heat in the air and green in the foliage.

When Coop and Charisse’s ten year anniversary rolled around we thought it’d be fun to dress them up in a new JCrew suit and gown from J Majors to update their wedding portraits. The girls contacted a former bride who let us use their family home in Fort Mill.

August in Charleston is HOT and Katie and West’s wedding at the world-famous Boone Hall Plantation was no exception. Fortunately, we found more than adequate cover under the shade of the centuries-old live oaks that span the property.

Most of the weddings I photograph are in Southeast, but every now and again a couple comes along looking to switch it up and take the celebration overseas. In this case, Morgan and Jarrod dreamt up a ten day trip to Greece with their families and closest friends. We all met in Athens for a few days of ancient history, but soon hopped a plane to Santorini. Their quaint, but out-of-this-world, ceremony happened on a rooftop at the incredible Remezzo Villas overlooking Oia and the Aegean.

North Corner Haven Winter Engagement Session

I can’t remember the last time I was more excited for a Charlotte wedding venue to open up. North Corner Haven has been around for quite some time as a family farm, but just recently they upgraded parts of the property so they can host events and weddings. This cute engagement session was this past winter, but even in the cold this place shines. If you’re getting married here, reach out! I’d love to discuss how we might work together on your wedding day!
