Heartfelt wedding photography for playful couples with refined sensibilty.
Based in North Carolina.
My wife and I hired Jim to take our engagement photos and shoot our wedding day. I can say that without a doubt, it was one of the easiest and best decisions we made throughout the entire process of planning our wedding.
Jim Trice is a luxury, fine art, wedding photographer based in Charlotte, North Carolina, and resides just outside of uptown near the NoDa Arts District.
His pursuit of the arts began at an early age with many creative endeavors most notably, drums, guitar, and a fascination with cameras. Jim spent his twenties playing drums and traveling all over the country in a touring band, which furthered his love of photography as he documented all of the new people and places he encountered along the way. As the music started to slow down, wedding photography quickly took hold.
As an undeniable romantic, Jim found that wedding photography allowed him to combine his love of travel, people, and relationships all into one of life’s most significant celebrations.
Jim’s photography is colorful and classic. Drawn to places with beautiful light and character, Jim loves working with clients to create stories of romance, adventure, and elegance.
In 2016, Jim flew around the world on a 32-day trip where he photographed a wedding in Santorini, Greece, and then continued to Thailand, Australia, and Hawaii before returning home. This experience transformed and opened his mind to the possibility of traveling the world while helping his clients document their weddings.
Jim enjoys photographing bespoke events in North Carolina and South Carolina at venues like The Biltmore Estate, Duke Mansion, Separk Mansion, Boone Hall Plantation, Legare Waring House, Middleton Place, and Lowndes Grove. EXPLORE THE PORTFOLIO
Earlier this Fall, we met up with Caroline and McCaig in downtown Charleston for their engagement session. The session began downtown with a casual look that fit perfectly with all of the Charleston’s beautiful streets and colors. After we finished downtown, we jumped in our cars and set off toward Sullivan’s Island to take in the sunset.
There’s a new picture-perfect wedding venue called The Andrews Farm out in Midland, North Carolina ready for beautiful weddings and bridal shoots alike in 2020. It’s a modern, European farmhouse built on a ton of land full of woods and golden fields. We set this shoot up with some really talented vendors to help showcase the property. I’ll be out there this Fall for a small, intimate family wedding.
This shoot came to life while Sabrina and I were planning our Summer trip to Spain. We absolutely love Spanish culture and decided to marry their colors and textures with one of our favorite Charlotte wedding venues, Morning Glory Farm.
